Installation of a NOVEC 1230® System
Sovereign Extinguishing were recently asked to protect a new facility at the UK’s premier film and TV production studios – home to the likes of James Bond, No Time to Die and Star Wars – The Rise of Skywalker, not to Mention Would I lie to You and Taskmaster.
They identified a requirement for a new Server Room to be built on the site, and in conjunction with one of our regular Data Room build partners we designed, supplied, installed and commissioned a NOVEC 1230® Gas Suppression System to protect the new room.
The room designs were completed by the room builder, and the completed room design sent to Sovereign Extinguishing where our designers implemented a Gas Suppression System design around the room design.
Aisle Separation was implemented in the room to aid with the thermal management, and our good friends at Kidde supplied the NOVEC 1230® cylinders as specified by the Sovereign Extinguishing design department. VESDA systems were installed from Xtralis and everything controlled by a control panel from Kentec.
Finally, it came to installation. The site’s very strict COVID policy meant that our installation team were tested every few days and thankfully none of them tested positive. The system was installed to the customer’s time-frame and as part of the Final Commissioning, the Room Integrity Test was completed by our own in-house Commissioning Team.
The complete project was installed on time and on budget and is now protecting their new space.
